No. Airports can actually expect to receive more revenue by using CurbZERO, and using CurbZERO would not affect the airport’s other parking revenue.
Here is our rationale: It is true that both parking revenue and the CurbZERO usage revenue come from the vehicles entering the airport. However, both the revenues come from very different segments of the vehicular traffic. Unlike motorists who want to park, drivers at the CurbZERO area of curb would not be using short-term parking even if it were free. These are drivers who are happy to circle around the airport roadway or hide in artificial congestion as they just talk on their smartphone with passengers who have told the driver they are going to be out in few minutes.
CurbZERO is legitimately finding a space for drivers based on traffic conditions and predictions of curbside usage. This not only reduces traffic circulating the airport roadway, but also provides a better experience by having drivers stop at temporary available spots in other CurbZERO-enabled curbs until their passenger and pickup spot are both predicted to be ready.
